Available Marion Sylder
Available: Reserve "Marion Sylder." Mullard OC44 in the absolute sweet spot: I imagine someone at Arbiter sorted through piles of transistors to find them ~80 hFe and 000 leak. With said specs, anyone w/basic soldering skills could solder by numbers and tack in the transistor without any biasing work. They'll drop in ~7v every. damn. time. This device, with help from correct Plessey crap caps, will yield that perfectly crunchy, clear punch that makes a Vox fakking sing. Quiet operation.
As with all Reserve units, I build these exactly as I'd want them for myself, with heavy cotton cloth paper label and unique name.
The idea with this one was to create what might have been soldered up by the neighborhood ham radio enthusiast who developed an interest in guitar stuff. She didn't like the amp-top thing, so she built a stomper! All the parts are what you'd find at any radio shop in the '60s.
Mono-color wiring--hobbyists don't need colors. Untidy but nicely arranged. All NOS UK cherry-red wire.
Now she can sell em to all the Sabbath doofuses down at the pub.
