Blackstrap Electrik Co. '56 Telecaster in Mary Kaye Burst. Heavy Flame, 6.2 lbs., One-piece Ash
Built this Tele this year. It's as high-end and vintage-accurate as you'll find anywhere: much more than anything out of the Fender Custom Shop.
*Super light one-piece American swamp ash body w/ gorgeous grain. Acquired rough sawn: my shaping for sharp edges and prominent router hump inside treble-side cutout. Walnut dowel plugs in rear. Every vintage feature accounted for.
*Musikraft blackguard neck w/ heavy flame, stainless steel medium frets. My shaping from soft V to C. Maple plug
*My special headstock shaping for increased accuracy, including a beautiful rear headstock carve with Tadeo taper
*tight neck pocket
*All Fender Pure Vintage hardware, including perfectly flat, cold-rolled steel bridge, and rare chrome small barrel saddles
*Premium CTS pots, Switchcraft Jack, and CRL switch. Wired by me with USA cloth wire.
*Real vintage bakelite switch tip
*My super accurate Blackwax pickups. Low-wind with USA Heavy-formvar wire. USA bakelite flat work. USA alnico 3 magnets. USA chrome-over-brass full-coverage neck pickup cover. Bridge pickup mags partially sunken like vintage originals. Flash-potted in lamp-black dyed beeswax, just like original. Clear, open, slightly microphonic tones with strong fundamental. Neck pickup is open and extended, with bell chime. All cloth wire. Killer with fuzz, of course!
* Razor-thin zero-plasticizer or -retardant USA nitro-cellulose in vivid Mary Kaye white burst finish.
*Includes extra NOS white-guard
I've got about $1600 in this, not counting the dozens of hours of careful crafting
Can leave Fender logo, add a Fender Esquire logo (both premium metallic waterslide decals), or blank headstock
