A little BEC history. Back in 2016 I was devising branding for the pedals I'd been building for fun and for friends since 2003. I wanted to do a run of five Zonk replicas, since there weren't any(!!) easily available. I settled on the brass plate and a swirly green hammer paint on big Hammond enclosures. I was gonna do every BEC pedal in this format. Too, I was slightly more interested in modern clean wiring than I am now. Things escalated and here we are.
I wanted to do this one as a recall to those first days. Holding the thing seriously trips me out.
Premium MKI with NOS '60s: paxoline board; Hunts, RS, and Mullard coupling caps; handful of swoony Piher resistors, and the icing~~ a classic trio of Mullard OC75 and two gold-pin, big G TI 2G374. This is the best stuff around for this circuit.
Tuned to have rad effects all through the Dial::: scratchy sustain down the middle, 8 bit at 7, crusty decay at full. Big bass on this one.
